Subject	car not starting

Message	i tested my red top optima battery with a volt meter and got 9.XX volts and the readout on the turbo timer is 8.2 volts. i just drove the car 2 days ago from this post and tonight it wouldn't start. is the battery considered dead? any ideas how it lost its full charge so easily? thanks.
